MPOW Ground Loop Noise Isolator Review
If you are reading this, you probably already know what the problem is. You’ve plugged your phone into your car and now you hear horrible screeching, whining sounds along with your music. The MPOW Ground Loop Noise Isolator is designed to reduce or eliminate that noise. Read my full review to find out how well it works.
Here is my story and why I’m reviewing this product. I got the SoundBot SB360 several weeks ago. I got one for my wife and one for me. Neither of our cars have Bluetooth capabilities built in so we were both really excited to start using these things. (And for what it’s worth, they work great!) But the difference between her experience and mine has nothing to do with the devices themselves, but rather how our cars are wired differently. In her car the sound is perfect. “Well, awesome,” I thought. So I plugged it into my stereo auxiliary port and could hear the sound very well, but there is also that annoying noise. I knew immediately what was wrong. Any time I used to connect my phone to the car and charge it at the same time I had the same issue. My heart sank because I figured there was nothing I could do about it.
As many of us do these days I gave Google a quick search to see what I could learn. Some people said to use a ground loop noise isolator, and some said they were worthless. After looking at a few reviews online I decided to find one and give it a try. The MPOW caught my eye because it is small, had good input even though it was pretty new, and was not expensive. So, I ordered it. The unit came in small plastic bag with nothing but itself and the short 3.5mm male/male cable. There were no instructions or real packaging of any kind. But I didn’t need any instructions. I simply opened the package and connected it in my car, which took about 10 seconds.
Then, VOILA! NO MORE GROUND LOOP NOISE! I could not be more pleased with how well this works. Quite a few people said these don’t work at all, and many more said that they drastically reduce the volume of the audio. I found that for this product neither are true. The noise is gone and the volume does not seem to be reduced at all.
The verdict? If you have static and other noise when using your AUX input, you really should buy the MPOW Ground Loop Noise Isolator. Go get it!
