Dollar Shave Club: Dr. Carver’s Easy Shave Butter Review

I’ve been using Dr. Carver’s Easy Shave Butter for almost two years and I have had only good experiences. When it comes to shaving cream/lather/soap/foam/gel, etc. there doesn’t seem to be a lot of market differentiation. You’ll mostly find that you get a foamy experience or you get a goopy experience. Dr. Carver’s is different.

It Is Creamy, Buttery Smooth

With Dr. Carver’s Easy Shave Butter you’ll just shave. The razor glides over your skin and is left feeling very clean and soft. When you apply it you’ll notice just how slippery it seems and when you shave it off you won’t even notice it.

It Is Not Greasy or Oily

This is by far my favorite thing about the shave butter. It seems odd to me that so many products leave your skin feeling anything but fresh and clean, but this product is in a class by itself. Because of how ‘clean’ this leaves my skin I always finish shaves with just a rinse, no cleanser needed.

In the picture below you can see just how nearly clear this is. Down near the bottom of my cheek is where the shave butter is applied with the proper thickness. The very opaque areas are to show the overall consistency of the product.

Gentle, Crisp Scent

Crisp is the easiest way to describe the smell of Dr. Carver’s Easy Shave Butter. It has a hint of that ‘aftershave’ smell, only because of the freshness. If I could make a scratch-n’-sniff picture for you, I would. Speaking of scratching, you won’t find yourself itchy and that close shave you are after will happen day after day.

Natural Ingredients, Mostly

Dr. Carver’s Easy Shave Butter is not 100% natural, so don’t get worked up into a lather. It has a bunch of great natural ingredients but lets be honest, if it comes in a non-refrigerated package then it has to have some non-natural stuff to keep things in good shape.
